1. First Global India AI 2023 Conference to Take Place in October
- India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is set to host the inaugural Global India AI 2023 event in October of this year.
- This conference will bring together top AI experts, innovators, startups, and investors from both India and around the globe.
- The committee responsible for guiding the event’s direction is led by the Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

2. NASA’s Upcoming Mission to Demonstrate Laser Communication in Space
- NASA is gearing up to launch a pioneering technology experiment known as ILLUMA-T (Integrated LCRD Low Earth Orbit User Modem and Amplifier Terminal) aboard SpaceX’s 29th Commercial Resupply mission.
- The goal is to advance the capabilities for space communications.
- Together with the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) that was sent into space in December 2021, ILLUMA-T aims to establish NASA’s first full-fledged, two-way laser relay system.
3. ISRO Reports 50°C Temperature Variation Just Below Moon’s Surface
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has unveiled data on temperature differences between the surface of the moon and a point about 8 cm underneath, collected by the ChaSTE (Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment) instrument.
- The findings reveal that at a depth of 8 cm the temperature drops to -10°C, while at 6 cm depth, it ranges from 5-10°C.

5. One Thousand Khelo India Centres to be Established Across India
- Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister for Youth Affairs, announced plans to set up 1,000 Khelo India Centres within the coming year.
- Additionally, he stated that each athlete will be granted 5 lakh rupees for acquiring equipment and another 5 lakh rupees annually for running costs.
- He also launched a booklet containing information on projects approved under the Khelo India Scheme and introduced a portal for National Sports Federations.

- Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, introduced a new comic book called “Let’s Move Forward” at an event in Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi.

- The Minister emphasized the role of such storytelling formats in conveying vital messages and expressed hope for more such publications in the future.
