1. SBI Card and Reliance Retail Cobranded Credit Card
- SBI Card and Reliance Retail Limited have launched a cobranded credit card, the ‘Reliance SBI Card’.
- Available in two versions – Reliance SBI Card and Reliance SBI Card PRIME – the card is made from recycled plastic and features RuPay contactless technology.
2. HSBC India Launches eBank Guarantees
- HSBC India, in partnership with National EGovernance Services Limited (NeSL), introduced electronicBank Guarantees (eBGs), a first for an international bank in India.
- eBGs are digital versions of traditional bank guarantees, ensuring payment by the bank to a beneficiary under certain conditions.
3. IndiaFirst Life Insurance’s Milestone in GIFTCity
- IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Limited is now the first Indian life insurance company to register with the Gujarat International Finance TecCity (GIFTCity)’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).
- GIFT IFSC, established under the Special Economic Zone Act of 2005, is India’s premier international financial services center.
4. SEBI’s New Format for AMCs’ Scheme Information Documents
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced a new format for Asset Management Companies’ (AMCs) Scheme Information Documents (SIDs).
- The new format, effective from April 1, 2024, aims to provide clearer information to investors.

5. AIFF’s AFC President’s Recognition Bronze Award
- The All India Football Federation (AIFF) received the AFC President’s Recognition Bronze Award for its contributions to grassroots football.
- AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey received the award in Doha, Qatar.
- Individual awards: Salem Al Dawsari (Saudi Arabia) – AFC Men’s Player of the Year 2022, Samantha Kerr (Australia) – AFC Women’s Player of the Year 2022.
Appointments and Resignations:
6. Manoranjan Mishra as RBI’s New Executive Director
- Manoranjan Mishra has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), effective from November 1, 2023.
- He will oversee the Enforcement, Risk Monitoring, and External Investments & Operations Departments.
Science and Technology:
7. India’s Development of LRSAM System Under Project Kusha
- India is developing a longrange surfacetoair missile (LRSAM) system, similar to Israel’s Iron Dome, under Project Kusha.
- The Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is leading this project to enhance India’s air defense capabilities.
Sports:
8. Indian Team’s Performance at Hangzhou Asian Para Games 2022
- The Indian team secured fifth position in the medal tally at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games 2022 in China.
- They won a record-breaking total of 111 medals: 29 gold, 31 silver, and 51 bronze.
- The mascot for the games was ‘Feifei’, the Divine Bird.
