1. Saraswati Samman award 2018

Venkaiah Naidu conferred Telugu poet K Siva Reddy with 28th Saraswati Samman award 2018.
It was given for the creation of his famous poetry collection ‘Pakkaki Ottigilite’.
The Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any of the 22 languages of India listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. It is named after an Indian goddess of knowledge and is considered to be among the highest literary awards in India.

2. India’s Largest ‘Charkha’ Made of Waste Plastic

Union Minister SmritiIrani has inaugurated a 1650-kg ‘Charkha’ Spinning Wheel made of plastic waste in Noida.
It measures 14 feet tall, width 8 feet, and 20 feet in length.

3. India Economic Summit

India Economic Summit is being organized by World Economic Forum during 3rd & 4th October 2019 in New Delhi.
Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will be participating as Chief Guest at India Economic Summit.

Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Meena Mangeshkar Khadikar has released her Hindi book named ‘Didiaur Main’.
This Book is on Mangeshkar family.

Book ‘The Tech Whisperer’ is authored by digital transformation expert Jaspreet Bindra.

Surjit S Bhalla has been appointed as Executive Director for India at IMF.

American-Austrian film producer Eric Pleskow has passed away.
Eric Pleskow was an Austrian-born American film producer and executive. From 1973 through 1978, Pleskow was president of United Artists.

Central Board of Direct Taxes has launched Documentation Identification Number
Now every CBDT communication will have to have a documentation identification number.
