1. Unlawful Activities Prevention Amendment Bill, 2019
- Rajya Sabha has passed Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019.
- It will amend Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.
- Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act is an Indian law aimed at effective prevention of unlawful activities associations in India.
- Its main objective was to make powers available for dealing with activities directed against the integrity and sovereignty of India.
2. Hyperloop between Mumbai and Pune
- Maharashtra has approved Infrastructure Project status for Rs 70000-crore plan to build Hyperloop project between Mumbai and Pune.
- Over a 117.5-km stretch which will shuttle people between the cities in 23 minutes.
- A Hyperloop is a proposed mode of passenger and/or freight transportation, first used to describe an open-source vactrain design released by a joint team from Tesla and SpaceX.
3. Highest Award of Republic of Guinea
- President Kovind has been awarded with ‘National order of Merit’ by the President of Guinea.
- Guinea is a country in West Africa, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean.

4. National Population Register
- Government has decided to prepare a National Population Register by 2020 to lay the foundation for pan-India National Register Citizens.
- National Population Register will be a list of usual residents of the country.

1. USA’ ambassador to United Nations
- Kelly Knight Craft has been appointed as the USA’ ambassador to United Nations.
- Kelly Knight Craft was previously the United States ambassador to Canada, the first woman to hold the post.
2. Indo-Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry
- The 11th Annual General Meeting of the Indo-Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held in Colombo.
- High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the event.
3. SBI Shanghai Branch
- State Bank of India’s Shanghai branch has become first Indian bank to link up with National Advance Payment System of China.
- National Advance Payment System was launched in 2008 by People’s Bank of China provides real-time settlement services for all payments.

1. New MD and CEO of Mindtree
- Mindtree has named Debashis Chatterjee as its new Managing Director and CEO replacing Rostow Ravanan.
- Mindtree Limited is an Indian multinational information technology and outsourcing company headquartered in Bangalore, India and New Jersey, USA. It is owned by Larsen & Toubro. Founded in 1999.
2. Controller General of Accounts
- Girraj Prasad Gupta has been appointed as Controller General of Accounts, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
- Controller General of Accounts is the apex Accounting Authority of the Central Government and exercises the powers of the President under Article 150 of the constitution for prescribing the forms of Accounts of the Union and State Governments on the advice of CAG.
