1. Registration Tracking Management System by Election Commission

  • Election Commission of India will implement Registration Tracking Management System for political parties from January 2020.
  • Applicant who is applying for party registration from 1st January 2020 onwards will be able to track the progress of his or her application and will get status through SMS and email.

2. Bharatiya POSHAN Anthem

  • Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu launched ‘Bharatiya Poshan Anthem’ in New Delhi.

3. Defence industry in UP

  • Uttar Pradesh Government will provide 25% subsidy and 100% stamp duty waiver for setting up the defence industry in the state.

4. Prithvi-II missile

  • India successfully test-fired indigenously developed nuke-capable Prithvi-II missile at Odisha coast.

1. PETA Person of the Year 2019

  • Actor Joaquin Rafael Phoenix has been bestowed with the PETA Person of the Year Award 2019.
  • Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed and produced by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker.

2. Pacific Air Chiefs’ Symposium 2019 (PACS 2019)

  • Chief of the Air Staff of India Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria is participating in Pacific Air Chiefs’ Symposium 2019 (PACS 2019) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
  • Theme: ‘A Collaborative Approach to Regional Security’.

3. International Volunteer Day

  • International Volunteer Day is observed on 5 December every year across the world.
  • Theme: ‘Volunteer for an inclusive future’.
  • The International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development, more commonly referred to as International Volunteer Day, is an international observance mandated by the UN General Assembly in 1985.

1. Alphabet Inc. CEO

  • Sundar Pichai has been promoted as Alphabet Inc. CEO.
  • It came after Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have announced that they are stepping down from the leadership role of the parent company Alphabet.

2. Asian Development Bank with Tamil Nadu Urban Investment Programme

  • Asian Development Bank will provide $206m loan to finance Tamil Nadu Urban Investment Programme.
  • The Asian Development Bank is a regional development bank established on 19 December 1966, which is headquartered in the Ortigas Center located in the city of Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines. The company also maintains 31 field offices around the world to promote social and economic development in Asia.

  • Masatsugu Asakawa has been appointed the 10th president of Asian Development Bank replacing Takehiko Nakao.

3. Walmart India with HDFC Bank

  • Walmart India has launched credit card in partnership with HDFC Bank for members of its Best Price Modern Wholesale ‘B2B Cash & Carry’ stores.
  • Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. The company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969.

4. 5th Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy

  • In its 5th Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Committee meeting, RBI has kept the policy repo rate unchanged to 5.15% maintaining the accommodative stance.
  • Reverse Repo Rate: 4.90%.
  • Marginal Standing Facility: 5.40%.
  • Bank Rate: 5.40%.

Sports News

1. Senior Wrestling National Championships

  • Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik has claimed Gold Medals at the Senior Wrestling National Championships in Jalandhar, Punjab.
  • Vinesh Phogat is an Indian wrestler who comes from a successful family of wrestlers, with her cousins Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari being international wrestlers and Commonwealth Games medalists as well. She became the first Indian woman wrestler to win Gold in both Commonwealth and Asian games.
  • Sakshi Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics.

2. Commemorative Coin on Roger Federer

  • The Federal Mint, Swissmint will release a 20 Swiss francs silver commemorative coin by honouring the Veteran tennis star Roger Federer in January 2020.
  • Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player who is ranked world No. 3 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
