1. Fit India School Rating System

  • HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Kiren Rijiju has jointly launched ‘Fit India School Rating System’.
  • It has been launched as part of the Fit India Campaign.
  • Fit India school rating system as per certain parameters is expected to enhance the image of the schools.

2. Dr YSR Aarogyasri Aasara scheme

  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy launched Dr YSR AarogyasriAasara scheme at the Guntur.
  • Patients to provide Post-Operative Sustenance allowance of Rs 225 per day or Rs 5000 per month during the recuperative period after treatment.

3. India’s first ‘Eat Right Station’

  • Mumbai Central Railway Station is the India’s first ‘Eat Right Station’ with four stars rating by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India as a part of ‘Eat Right India’ movement.
  • Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which is a consolidating statute related to food safety and regulation in India.

4. India’s first maritime museum

1. World Soil Day

  • World Soil Day is observed annually on 5th December by Food and Agriculture Organization.
  • Theme: ‘Stop soil erosion, Save our future’.
  • International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS), in 2002, adopted a resolution proposing the 5th of December as World Soil Day to celebrate the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor to human well-being.
  • The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate arguments and debate policy.

2. First ‘two-plus-two’ Dialogue between India and Japan

  • India and Japan held their inaugural Foreign and Defence ministerial dialogue ‘two-plus-two’ Dialogue’ in New Delhi.
  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar led the Indian delegation
  • Japanese side was headed by Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Minister of Defence Taro Kono

1. Economic Times Lifetime Achievement Award for Public Service 2019

  • Arun Jaitley was bestowed with the Economic Times Lifetime Achievement Award for Public Service 2019.
  • The Economic Times is an English-language, Indian daily newspaper headquartered in Mumbai, India, at The Times of India building. published by Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. The Economic Times began publication in 1961.

2. Karnataka VikasGrameena Bank with Canara, HSBC, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Life Insurance Company Ltd

  • Karnataka VikasGrameena Bank and Canara, HSBC, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Life Insurance Company Ltd. signed an MoU for bancassurance.
  • Bancassurance is a relationship between a bank and an insurance company that is aimed at offering insurance products or insurance benefits to the bank’s customers. In this partnership, bank staff and tellers become the point of sale and point of contact for the customer.

3. Gandhipedia

  • National Council of Science Museums and IIT Gandhinagar and Kharagpur have joined hands to develop Gandhipedia.
  • Gandhipedia will be an online repository of books, letters and speeches written by Mahatma Gandhi.
