1. 2020 Year of Nurse and Midwife

  • World Health Organization has designated the year 2020 as the ‘Year of Nurse and Midwife’.
  • It is done in the honour of 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale,

2. Esmail Qaani as new Commander of Iran

  • Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei named Esmail Qaani to replace Qasem Soleimani as its commander.

1. Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA)

  • Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan launched the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA).
  • The main aim to boost the confidence of customers and bring in more transparency in the real estate sector.

2. CSC inks with Paytm Payments Bank

  • Common Service Centres (CSC) e-Governance Services India has signed an MoU with Paytm Payments Bank for sale of FASTags.

3. Arogya Sanjeevani Policy

  • Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has asked all Health and General Insurers to mandatory offer product to cover the basic health needs of users by offering them the minimum of Rs 1 lakh and the maximum sum-insured of Rs 5 lakh.
  • The product shall be named ‘Arogya Sanjeevani Policy’ followed by the insurer’s name.

1. Table Tennis Player Manav Thakkar

  • Indian Table Tennis Player Manav Thakkar became world no.1 in the latest International Table Tennis Federation rankings in the Under-21 men’s singles category.

2. Commonwealth Games Shooting and Archery Events

  • Sports Ministry has given ‘in-principle’ approval to holding the Commonwealth Games shooting and archery events in India.
  • Both the events will be held under the aegis of the Commonwealth Games Friendship Program in March 2022.
