3. Punjab Government with World Economic Forum

  • Punjab Government has partnered with World Economic Forum to design a Public-Private pilot on shared, clean and electric mobility.

3. World Malaria Report 2019

  • India has achieved 28% reduction in malaria cases in 2018 in World Malaria Report 2019 by World Health Organisation.

  • HDFC ERGO is a 51:49 joint venture firm between HDFC and ERGO International AG, one of the insurance entity of the Munich Re Group in Germany operating in the insurance field under the BFSI sector. The company offers products in the retail, corporate and rural sectors.

2. India’s forex reserves

  • India’s foreign exchange reserves crossed the $450-billion mark for the first time.
  • Foreign exchange reserves are cash and other reserve assets held by a central bank or other monetary authority that are primarily available to balance payments of the country, influence the foreign exchange rate of its currency, and to maintain confidence in financial markets.

3. Bharat Bond Exchange Traded Fund

  • Government of India has approved the launch of Bharat Bond Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) which will be the first corporate bond ETF in the country.
  • An exchange-traded fund is an investment fund traded on stock exchanges, much like stocks. An ETF holds assets such as stocks, commodities, or bonds and generally operates with an arbitrage mechanism designed to keep it trading close to its net asset value, although deviations can occasionally occur.

4. Google Play’s Best Apps of 2019 in ‘Personal Growth’ Category

  • Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty’s fitness app ‘Shilpa Shetty App’ has been awarded Google Play’s Best Apps of 2019 in ‘Personal Growth’ category.
  • Google Play, formerly Android Market, is a digital distribution service operated and developed by Google. It serves as the official app store for the Android operating system, allowing users to browse and download applications developed with the Android software development kit and published through Google.

1. Sub Junior National Football Championship 2019-20 title

  • Meghalaya clinched the Sub Junior National Football Championship 2019-20 title after defeating Arunachal Pradesh.

2. Plogging Ambassador of India

  • Ripu Daman Bevli was appointed as ‘Plogging Ambassador of India’ on 50th Fit India Plogging Run in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.
  • Ripu Daman Bevli was appointed by KirenRijiju, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter. It started as an organised activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution.
