6. B.K.S. Varma’s Legacy Lives On

  • Renowned Indian artist BKS Varma passed away in Bangalore, Karnataka, aged 74.
  • His artwork majorly focused on societal and environmental themes, portrayed in a surrealistic style.
  • He underwent artistic training under the guidance of A.N. Subbarao at a cultural arts institute.
  • Throughout his career, he was honored with the Karnataka Rajya Puruskar (2001), Rajyothsava award (2001), and an Honorary Doctorate by Bangalore University in 2011.
