1. AAP offers Rajya sabha seat to Raghuram Rajan.

  • The Aam Aadmi Party has offered former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan one of its three seats in the Rajya Sabha.
  • The party is entitled to three seats in Rajya Sabha on account of its victory in the 2015 Delhi Assembly Elections.

2.Chennai named UNESCO Creative city for contribution to music.

  • Chennai was recently designated as UNESCO Creative City for its contributions to music, making it the third city on the list after Jaipur and Varanasi.
  • Once a city features on the list, it hosts cultural events monitored by UNESCO for four years.

3.India signs loan agreement with WB for USD 119mn.

  • A Financing Agreement for IBRD loan of USD 119mn for the “Odisha Higher Education Programme for Excellence & Equity(OHEPEE) Project” was signed with the World Bank.
  • The objective of the is to improve the quality of students equitable access to selected institutions and enhance governance of the higher education in Odisha.

1.Guinea becomes new member of International Solar Alliance(ISA).

  • Guinea’s Foreign Minister Mamady Toure has handed over his country’s instrument accession to the India-initiated International Solar Alliance(ISA).
  • International Solar Alliance is the organization is founded by Narendra Modi headquartered Gurugram, Haryana.

2.Israel Centre opened at IIMB.

  • The Israeli Consulate in Bengaluru launched the Israel Centre at Indian Institute of Managemnt Bangalore(IIMB).
  • The centre will be based on research by faculty and will also include faculty and student exchange programmes.

1.India unveil Logo, Mascot and song for AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championship.

  • Assam’s famed one-horned rhino was unveiled as the official mascot of the 2017 AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championship in Guwahati, Assam.
  • The official mascot ‘Guppy’ is a female version of Assam’s on horned rhino.

2.Kerala government inks MoU with Intel, UST Global.

  • The Kerala government inked an MoU with Intel and UST Global for exploring the possibility of transforming the state into an electronics hardware manufacturing hub.
  • The MoU was signed by the state IT department with Intel and UST Global in the presence of CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

3.Apollo Munich Health insurance wins ‘Genaral Insurance Company of the Year’.
