1. Director General of Labour Bureau
- DPS Negi has been appointed as the Director General of Labour Bureau in the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

2. Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)
- Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been reappointed as chairperson of the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
- The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is a committee of selected members of parliament, constituted by the Parliament of India, for the purpose of auditing the revenue and the expenditure of the Government of India.
- They check that parliament exercises over the executive stems from the basic principle that parliament embodies the will of the people. This committee along with the Estimates committee (EC) and Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) are the three financial standing committees of the Parliament of India.
3. UNEP Goodwill Ambassador of India
- United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has re-appointed Actress Dia Mirza as its National Goodwill Ambassador for another two years.

1. World Thalassaemia Day
- The International Thalassaemia Day, celebrated annually on the 8th of May.

1. Rob Gibbs passes away
- Veteran director and story artist Rob Gibbs has passed away.
- Rob Gibbs is a story artist for Pixar. He is also the father of actress Mary Gibbs, who voiced Boo in Monsters, Inc.. He directed the Cars Toons: Mater’s Tall Tales episodes Moon Mater and Air Mater. He was also one of the writers of Air Mater.
- He was well Known for Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters.Up, Wall-E, Inside Out to Onward.
