1. LIC’s Global Standing in Insurance

  • LIC is now the world’s fourth-largest insurer in terms of reserves, positioned behind Allianz SE, China Life Insurance, and Nippon Life Insurance, according to a S&P Global Market Intelligence report.
  • Its reserves are valued at $503.7 billion.

2. SBI Card Integrates with Bharat BillPay

  • SBI Card has joined NPCI’s Bharat BillPay for credit card payments, aiming to streamline bill payments for its users.
  • Bharat BillPay already includes credit card issuers like Kotak Mahindra Bank, BoB Financial, and others.

3. SEBI Extends SCORES Integration Deadline

  • SEBI has postponed the deadline for connecting SCORES with the online dispute resolution mechanism to April 1, 2024.
  • Companies must report actions on SCORES within three weeks, aiding in addressing investor complaints against financial market entities.

4. Record-Breaking UPI Transactions in November 2023

  • UPI transaction value reached an all-time high of ₹17.4 lakh crore in November 2023, with the number of transactions slightly dipping to 1,124 crore.
