  • The grandeur of G20 Summit will be magnified by a 27-foot Nataraja statue that depicts Lord Shiva in his cosmic dance form. Made of ashtadhatu, a composite of eight metals, this 18-tonne marvel was ferried to Delhi on a trailer with 36 tires.
  • Marrying age-old craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, the sculpture draws inspiration from ancient Nataraja idols. It is the brainchild of distinguished sculptors Srikanda Sthapathy, Radhakrishna Sthapathy, and Swaminatha Sthapathy, who are siblings.
  • Employing the age-old ‘lost-wax’ casting technique of the Chola dynasty, the initial idea was to forge the statue in panja loha. However, it was eventually cast in ashtadhatu. This majestic piece is appraised at Rs 10 crore, inclusive of GST.
