1. Conclusion of ‘Ex KAVACH’ Joint Military Exercise by the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC)

  • The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) has effectively wrapped up the integrated joint military exercise named ‘Ex KAVACH.’ The exercise saw participation from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
  • Initiated on February 23, 2023, and culminating on April 7, 2023, the exercise was designed to hone joint warfare capabilities, streamline standard operating procedures (SOPs), and amplify interoperability and operational cohesion among the armed forces.
  • Stationed in Port Blair, the ANC, which coordinated this exercise, is celebrated as India’s first integrated theatre command.

2. Inauguration of Significant Projects in Telangana and Tamil Nadu by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a series of pivotal projects in the states of Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
  • These projects encompass the electrification of the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar railway line, refurbishment of the Secunderabad railway station, the introduction of 13 new MMTS services, enhancements to six national highway segments, and the initiation of construction for AIIMS Bibinagar.
  • Furthermore, the Prime Minister launched the esteemed Vande Bharat Express journeying from Secunderabad to Tirupati and unveiled Phase-I of the New Integrated Terminal Building at Chennai Airport in Tamil Nadu.

  • This art form stands as an invaluable cultural heritage, transmitted across generations. In the traditional education system of Ladakh, wood carving occupies a revered position, being one among the five principal knowledge domains.

4. Execution of the Biannual Prasthan Exercise by the Indian Navy off the Mumbai Coast

  • The Indian Navy orchestrated the semi-annual Prasthan exercise in the waters off the Mumbai Coast.
  • Recognized as a fundamental segment of the Indian Navy’s operations and conducted biannually, Prasthan gathers all maritime stakeholders to foster effective collaboration. The exercise’s core objective is to ensure offshore safety and harmonize the endeavors of various maritime entities.
  • Prasthan was carried out on the Greatdrill Chaaya platform, approximately 30 nautical miles southwest of Mumbai Harbour, and witnessed participation from representatives of agencies including the Maharashtra Police, Customs, Fisheries Department, and the Mumbai Port Authority.
