1. PSU Banks See a Profit Surge to Rs 34,774 Cr in Q1
- In the initial quarter ending June 2023, public sector banks (PSBs) reported a remarkable profit surge, reaching over Rs 34,774 crore, effectively more than doubling their previous figures.
- Comparative data from the previous fiscal year shows these banks had accumulated profits of Rs 15,306 crore.
- Among them, Punjab National Bank stood out, noting a 307 percent jump in profits, scaling from Rs 308 crore to Rs 1,255 crore.
