UN Security Council Election Results
On June 6, 2024, the United Nations General Assembly elected Pakistan, Somalia, Panama, Denmark, and Greece as new non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. Their two-year terms will begin on January 1, 2025, replacing Japan, Malta, Mozambique, Ecuador, and Switzerland. Nepal’s 900 MW Hydropower Project Milestone
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ marked the completion of the main tunnel for the 900 MW Arun III Hydropower Project on June 5. The project, assisted by India, has completed the excavation of the 11.8 km-long Head Race Tunnel in the Sankhuwasabha District of eastern Nepal.
