- The prestigious “Living Heritage University” title is on the horizon for Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal, with the expected endorsement from UNESCO in April or May 2023.
- Founded by the literary luminary Rabindranath Tagore in 1921, the institution transitioned to a Central University in 1951 via a legislative enactment.
- The privilege of nominating the Vice-chancellor of the University is vested in the President of India.

2. Tokamak Energy’s Revolutionary ‘Super’ Magnets from the UK
- British enterprise, Tokamak Energy, has unveiled the world’s inaugural ‘Super’ magnets, engineered for nuclear fusion reactors’ trials.
- Dubbed the Demo4 magnet, it brandishes a magnetic field strength approximately a million-fold stronger than Earth’s, optimizing it for nuclear fusion plasma containment.
- Nuclear fusion’s potential as a pinnacle of clean energy has been under the research lens since the 1950s.
- With ambitions set high, Tokamak Energy is on track to become the world’s first private entity to harness commercial fusion energy by the early 2030s.

3. MobiKwik Spearheads UPI Integration for Credit Cards
- In a pioneering move, MobiKwik has launched RuPay Credit Cards on UPI, marking its position as the first Indian fintech to achieve this feat.
- Users now have the facility to seamlessly connect their RuPay Credit Cards to their UPI IDs.
- MobiKwik patrons can initiate transactions using the UPI QR code and the associated UPI PIN.
- This integration, in congruence with NPCI’s overarching vision, seeks to democratize access to financial services.

6. RBI’s Innovative Approach: Dispensing Coins via QR Code
- RBI is all set to launch a QR Code-centric Coin Vending Machine in collaboration with premier banks to streamline coin distribution.
- The initial deployment will encompass 19 locations across 12 cities in India.
- The QCVM, a pioneering cashless coin dispensing mechanism, will facilitate coin access by debiting the user’s bank accounts via UPI, eliminating the need for traditional currency notes.

7. Defence Ministry and L&T’s Collaboration for Modular Bridges
- A collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and corporate giant Larsen & Toubro will culminate in the creation of 41 Modular Bridges for the Corps of Engineers in the Indian Army, with an estimated budget of ₹2,585 crore.
- The design blueprint, crafted by DRDO, has been entrusted to L&T for execution.

- Skye Air has introduced ‘Skye UTM’, a trailblazing drone-centric traffic management system in India, inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
- Fueled by Cloud technology, Skye UTM integrates drone traffic with conventional aviation airspace.
