Word-1: Polygamy
Meaning: Marriage in which a spouse of either sex may have more than one mate at the same time.
Synonyms: Bigamy, polyandry, polygyny, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Its leaders renounced polygamy in 1890.
2. He said polygamy was God’s will.
3. Mormon Utah renounced polygamy 111 years ago; It’s hidden.

Word-2: Ridicule
Meaning: To make fun of, either sportively and good-humouredly or unkindly with the intention of humiliating.
Synonyms: Caricature, contempt, derision, disdain, jeer, laughter, mockery, parody, sarcasm, satire, scorn, taunt, taunting, badinage, banter, buffoonery, burlesque, comeback, dig, disparagement, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. They seek to draw down ridicule on me.
2. You mustn’t ridicule unfortunate people.
3. He is exposed to the ridicule of the public.

Word-3: Agnostic
Meaning: A person who holds that knowledge of a Supreme Being, ultimate cause, etc, is impossible.
Synonyms: Skeptic, doubter, freethinker, materialist, unbeliever, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. He was agnostic about their listing location.
2. The past few years, I’ve become an agnostic.
3. An agnostic is a doubter.

Word-4: Propitiated
Meaning: You stop them being angry or impatient by doing something to please them.
Synonyms: Appease, assuage, atone, mollify, pacify, placate, satisfy, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. I’ve never gone out of my way to propitiate people.
2. “Plotinus and Porphyry felt reserved towards participation in sacrifices to propitiate the spirits.”

Word-5: Fleeting
Meaning: Used to describe something which lasts only for a very short time.
Synonyms: Cursory, ephemeral, fading, momentary, short-lived, sudden, transitory, flitting, flying, passing, short, vanishing, evanescent, flash in the pan, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Carol was paying a fleeting visit to Paris.
2. The clouds are fleeting before the wind.
3. They fired at a fleeting enemy.

Word-6: Grudge
Meaning: A feeling of resentment harboured because of some real or fancied wrong.
Synonyms: Animosity, animus, antipathy, bad blood, bitterness, enmity, grievance, hard feelings, hate, hatred, ill will, injustice, malice, rancour, resentment, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. This is something of a grudge match against a long-term enemy.
2. He appears to have a grudge against certain players.
3. I grudge about having to pay so much tax.

Word-7: Yearning
Meaning: A yearning for something is a very strong desire for it.
Synonyms: Ambition, appetite, aspiration, craving, eagerness, fascination, hankering, hunger, longing, passion, thirst, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. He also has a yearning for a P-38 Lightning.
2. Real yearning for the old country.
3. Yearning made a warm cradle in her stomach.

Word-8: Ultimogeniture
Meaning: The tradition of inheritance by the last-born of a privileged position in parents.
Usage Examples:
1. Patrilineal ultimogeniture (“Borough English “) prevailed elsewhere in the champion.

Word-9: Matriliny
Meaning: The fact of someone belonging to a particular family depends only on female relatives.
Synonyms: Materiality, matronly, most riling, maturing, materially, trailing, materialize, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Different reasons are attributed to the emergence of matriliny among them.
2. Change the town’s succession system to the paramountcy from patrilineal to matrilineal succession.
