Word-1: Contemplate
Meaning: To spend time considering a possible future action or to consider one particular thing for a long time in a serious and quiet way.
Synonyms: Aim, consider, envisage, foresee, intend, mull over, ponder, propose, think of, weigh, deliberate, design, excogitate, expect, observe, percolate, purpose, ruminate, speculate, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. The reasons people contemplate job changes are many and varied.
2. It occurred to her that her inability to contemplate changing her teaching methods might mask an actual failure to change them.
3. No drug company would ever contemplate issuing a medicine with so many unproven and untested facets.

Word-2: Malaise
Meaning: A general feeling of bad health or lack of energy in a person, group, or society.
Synonyms: Angst, anxiety, despair, discomfort, disquiet, doldrums, illness, pain, unease, uneasiness, weakness, debility, decrepitude, distress, enervation, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Richardson was reluctant to blame OPEC for this budding return to energy malaise.
2. But too much debate focuses on measures to treat the symptoms of the malaise rather than tackling the cause.
3. Britain’s neighbours have connected the latest crisis, over foot and mouth, with a deeper malaise.

Word-3: Inevitable
Meaning: Something that is certain to happen and cannot be prevented.
Synonyms: Imminent, impending, inescapable, inexorable, irresistible, necessary, unavoidable, undeniable, binding, doomed, pat, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. It seems almost inevitable that North African economies will still be primarily oriented towards Europe.
2. If the case succeeds, it is inevitable that other trials will follow.
3. A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love.

Word-4: Windfall
Meaning: An amount of money that you receive unexpectedly.
Synonyms: Bonanza, bonus, find, fortune, godsend, gravy, a gift from the gods, lucky find, money from heaven, pennies from heaven, stroke of luck.
Usage Examples:
1. So do not be disappointed if you fail to receive a windfall or secure your greatest ambition.
2. Voice-over for growers across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, the extra demand for apples is an unexpected windfall.
3. When the company makes money, its junk soars in anticipation of the windfall.

Word-5: Reluctant
Meaning: Feeling or showing doubt about doing something, unwilling or eager to do something.
Synonyms: Afraid, averse, cautious, circumspect, hesitant, loath, shy, slow, squeamish, uncertain, wary, backward, calculating, chary, demurring, diffident, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Reluctant to lose residual temperature, forgetting the scar is still in pain.
2. Many parents feel reluctant to talk openly with their children.
3. Children are sometimes understandably reluctant to wear ugly or uncomfortable glasses.

Word-6: Graft
Meaning: The act of getting money or advantage through the dishonest use of political power and influence.
Synonyms: Bud, hybridization, implant, jointure, scion, shoot, slip, splice, sprout, union.
Usage Examples:
1. Hard graft is the only way to succeed in business.
2. He promised an end to graft and corruption in public life.
3. The management tried unsuccessfully to graft new working methods onto the existing ways of doing things.

Word-7: Insidious
Meaning: It is unpleasant or dangerous and develops gradually without being noticed.
Synonyms: Dangerous, subtle, artful, astute, corrupt, crafty, crooked, cunning, deceitful, deceptive, foxy, guileful, intriguing, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. Employee advocates argue that the policies are an insidious way for companies to take away statutory rights that Congress granted workers.
2. There is an insidious onset of complaints several days after exposure, shock, etc.
3. The third factor, hygiene, is perhaps the most insidious and difficult to control.

Word-8: Whistle-blower
Meaning: Anyone who has and reports insider knowledge of illegal activities occurring in an organization.
Synonyms: Informant, informer, advocate, defender, protector, snitch, stool pigeon, turncoat.
Usage Examples:
1. The Liberals first raised the notion of whistle-blower legislation in the fall of 2003.
2. The whistle-blower was fired for exposing the conditions in mental hospitals.
3. In the past day alone, a whistle-blower in the saga was also found dead, although police said the cause wasn’t suspicious.

Word-9: Agnostic
Meaning: A person who does not have a definite belief about whether God exists or not.
Synonyms: Skeptic, doubter, freethinker, materialist, unbeliever.
Usage Examples:
1. the theistic mind nurtures God. The agnostic mind ignores God. The atheistic mind kills God.
2. You can still divine water with a rod and be an agnostic.
3. To have such a thing happen – when she had been a perfectly normal agnostic for a lifetime, like everybody else.
