1. Rendezvous

• The halo effect is a type of immediate judgement discrepancy, or cognitive bias, where a person making an initial assessment of another person, place, or thing will assume ambiguous information based upon concrete information.

• The amount of freedom to move or act that is available.

4. Agog
• Very eager or curious to hear or see something.

• Revive someone from unconsciousness or apparent death.
• Make something active or vigorous again.
Usage: An ambulance crew tried to resuscitate him.

• Resuscitation is the process of correcting physiological disorders in an acutely ill patient. It is an important part of intensive care medicine, trauma surgery and emergency medicine. Well known examples are cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

8. Stalemate
• Bring to or cause to reach stalemate.
Usage: The group played a key role in stalemating the negotiations.

• Stalemate is a situation in the game of chess where the player whose turn it is to move is not in check but has no legal move. The rules of chess provide that when stalemate occurs, the game ends as a draw.

9. Meritocracy
• Meritocracy is a political system in which economic goods and/or political power are vested in individual people on the basis of talent, effort, and achievement, rather than factors such as heredity or wealth.

10. Ebbs and Flows
• Ebb and Flow are two phases of the tide or any similar movement of water. The Ebb is the outgoing phase, when the tide drains away from the shore; and the flow is the incoming phase when water rises again. The terms are also common in figurative use.
Usage: Over this period there have been ebbs and flows in the level of activity, often in response to the major issues and challenges of the day

• Relating to new-born children or other mammals.
• Neonatology is a subspecialty of paediatrics that consists of the medical care of new-born infants, especially the ill or premature new-born. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units.

12. Impinge
• Have an effect, especially a negative one.
Usage: Several factors impinge on market efficiency.
