1. Turncoat
• A person who deserts one party or cause in order to join an opposing one.
Usage: They denounced him as a turncoat.
• A turncoat is a person who shifts allegiance from one loyalty or ideal to another, betraying or deserting an original cause by switching to the opposing side or party.
2. Coterminous
• Having the same boundaries or extent in space, time, or meaning.
Usage: The coterminous Borough and Parliamentary Constituency of Blyth Valley.
3. Bequeath
• Leave property to a person or other beneficiary by a will.
Usage: He bequeathed his art collection to the town.
4. Parlance
• A particular way of speaking or using words, especially a way common to those with a particular job or interest.
Usage: Dated terms that were once in common parlance.
5. Candour
• The quality of being open and honest; frankness.
Usage: A man of refreshing candour.
6. Plutocracy
• A plutocracy is a society that is ruled or controlled by people of great wealth or income.
• The first known use of the term in English dates from 1631. Unlike systems such as democracy, capitalism, socialism or anarchism, plutocracy is not rooted in an established political philosophy.
Usage: Today, more than ever, it resembles a plutocracy, a society governed by a handful of enormously wealthy individuals
7. Lingua franca
• A language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different.
Usage: By 1910, Sango had become a stable lingua franca spread by soldiers and others serving the whites
8. Ontology
• Relating to the branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of being.
• Ontology is the philosophical study of being. More broadly, it studies concepts that directly relate to being, in particular becoming, existence, reality, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations.
Usage:The argument operated at the level of the fundamental ontology of the rival philosophies
9. Blip
• An unexpected, minor, and typically temporary deviation from a general trend.
Usage: The Chancellor dismissed rising inflation as a blip.
10. Largesse
• Generosity in bestowing money or gifts upon others.
Usage: Presumably public money is not dispensed with such largesse to anyone else.
