Article Title: The End of Work As We Know It?

Article Summary

The article challenges the notion that with the rise of automation there would be a change in what constitutes work. The idea that it would lead to mass unemployment is also questioned. The article focuses on how people are increasingly becoming disillusioned and have a pessimistic outlook as if the end of work as we know it is imminent. The writer analyzes the present scenario and concludes that it’s physical  labour that is going to be affected. The focus then shifts to the changing definition of work and how in the digital companies the line between work and play is being blurred which means that employees are always working. But the writer is critical of this because he believes that there is a life beyond work and we should not recognize ourselves just by the work we do and the values that we learn by working are different from those we learn from playing around. And its these values that help us in changing things and having an impact. The writer is also critical of the phrase work-life balance because he thinks that work is projected as something opposite to life which is not the case.
