Answers 1: (c) To solve this one needs to proceed further after considering one of the statements to be true and then validating all the other statements spoken by the other inhabitants. The statement which does not contradict with any of the other statements, becomes the true answer.

Here we can see that if we consider Sita’s 2nd statement true then Krishna’s 2nd Statement will be false that will make us easy to solve this question

And if Sita’s 1st statement is false this means that Sita is married to Balram. So, Balram’s 2nd statement is False. As none contradict, we get the following table:

“Sita is married to Balram” is the correct statement. Hence option (c) is correct.

Answers 2: (b) This can be solved by analyzing Anthony’s statements. As he says that he is the chief and the chief is among us (three people) and it is known that only one can be true, then it can surely be said that the 1st statement is true and 2nd is false since if 2nd is true then 1st has to be true by default. Therefore, for Anthony- 1st statement = True 2nd statement = False After this, move on to analyze Akbar’s statements. Since we know that Anthony is not the chief, his 2nd statement is false and hence 1st is right- Akbar is Amar’s father. Therefore, for Akbar- 1st statement = True 2nd statement = False Lastly, proceed to analyze Amar’s statements. We know that he is Akbar’s son. His 1st statement is false and hence 2nd has to be correct. This implies that the chief wears a red shirt. Therefore, for Amar- 1st statement = False 2nd statement = True It is clear that Akbar is the chief. Hence option (b) is correct.

Answers 3: (b) This can be solved by analyzing Krishna’s statements. As he says that “He didn’t do it and that he doesn’t know who did it” and it is known that only one can be true as the other is false, then it can surely be said that the 1st statement is true and 2nd is false since the opposite is not possible [That is, False and True is not possible as if he stole the boat, he will definitely know who did it]. Therefore, for Krishna- 1st statement = True 2nd statement = False

After this, move on to analyze Dhoni’s statements. Since we know that Krishna didn’t do it, his 2nd statement is true and hence 1st is false which means that Dhoni stole the boat. Therefore, for Dhoni- 1st statement = True 2nd statement = False

Lastly, proceed to verify this with Ajinkya’s statements. None of the facts are contradictory here, hence the fact that Dhoni stole the boat is consistent with all the statements. Therefore, for Ajinkya- 1st statement = True 2nd statement = False

It is clear that Dhoni stole the boat. Hence option (b) is correct.

Answers 4: (b)

Option (b) is the only correct statement. To solve this one needs to proceed further after considering one of the statements to be true and then validating all the other statements spoken by the other inhabitants.

The statement which does not contradict with any of the other statements, becomes the true answer.

We can see that this case of true statement is not contradicting with any statement. Hence option (b) is correct.
