Let Mr X’s salary be Rs p
His household expenditure=0.2p
Salary left after household expenditure=0.8p

Spending on medicine=.15×0.8p=0.12p
Spending on entertainment=0.10×0.8p=0.08p
Mr X s total expenditure=0.2p+0.2p+0.12p+0.12p+0.08p=0.72p
So 0.28p=9800
p=35,000

Arnan's expense is 30% more than Vimal's expense and Vimal's expense is 10% less than Raman’s expense. If the Sum of their expenses, is Rs.6447, then what would be the Aman's expense?

Let Raman's expense be p
Expense of Vimals=0.9p
Expense of Arnans=1.3×0.9p=1.17p
So 3.07p=6447

In a school there are 2000 students out of whom 36 per cent are girls. Each boy's monthly fee is Rs 480 and each girl's monthly fee is 25 per cent less than a boy. What is the total of the monthly fees of girls and boys together?

Girls fees=0.75×480=360
Number of girls=36/100×2000=720
Number Of boys=64/100×2000=1280
Total monthly fees=360×720+480×1280=873600

Rubina decided to donate 16%ofher monthly salary to an NGO. On the day of donation she changed her mind and donated Rs. 6,567 which was 75% of what she had decided earlier. How much is Rubina's monthly salary ?

Let his salary be p
Initial decision to donate=16/100×p=0.16p
Final decision=0.16p×.75
Thus,0.16p×0.75=6567

Six-eleventh of a number is equal to twenty two percent of second number. Second number is equal to the one-fourth of third number. The value of the third number is 2400, What is the 45% of first number?

Let the numbers are a,b,c
Now according to the question
6a/11 = 22b/100 ……….(1)
And b = c/4…………………(2)
We are also given by the value of c i.e. 2400
So the value of b would be 600
Now put b = 600 in equation 1
6a/11 = (22 x 600)/100
6a/11= 132
a = 242
Now 45% of 242 = 108.9
