70 students are majoring in both, Urdu & Persian If 73% of the students are Urdu majors, we know that 27% are not Urdu majors. By the same reasoning, 38% are not Persian majors, because 62% of the students do major in Persian. So: 27 + 38 = 65 65% of the students are not majoring in both Urdu & Persian, so 35% are double majors, a total of 70 students.
n(Urdu) = 73% = 146 Students
n(Persian) = 62% = 124 students
n(Total) = 200 students
so, 200 = 146 + 124 – x
x = 70 = 35% students major in both urdu and persian
