Article Name:‘BBC World service should not be threatened by having to make money’

By: ‘James Robinson’

Writer in the article is criticising Peter Horrocks, the BBC executive, running the world service for asking the broadcasters for money making schemes, as he wished to plug the funding shortfall. Article also states that broadcasters were told that they would be asked about these ideas during their management appraisals, which implies that this could be a hurdle in their careers. Writer points out that this was a wrong time to be asking for this because journalists were seeking to now about their future, once they become a full part of BBC in 2014.

Summary:

Well, there is no harm n asking for money making schemes from the employees, but using that as a hurdle in the career is not fair. Moreover, BBC and its sister services should be the priority of the government, as it can actually give a lot of revenue. Hence, money making should indeed not threaten the news making process.

By: ‘Jug Suraiya’

Article is a writer’s funny take on getting lost while looking for a place to go. Writer states that according to bunny, his female companion, men get lost because they never ask for directions unlike women who do ask for directions. Consequently, the writer states that for not asking for directions from strangers, there is probably survival instinct at work here, as men don’t ask for ways. And in case of women, the writer states that since ancient times, women who stayed at home, must have had no inhibitions, asking for ways was easier. Hence men don’t ask for ways and the writer still won’t install a GPS.

Summary:

Well, exactly mean are from Mars or somewhere and women from Venus or somewhere. Apparently, there are many fundamental differences in men and women and ay be asking for ways is also one.
