The Article is talking about Nisha Misra who quit her job in IT consultancy to follow her passion of collecting artefacts and consequently set up her own store called Arastan. Initially it was just an online store but now it also has a store and décor in the store ranges from Rs 15,000 to the cost up to Rs 1 lakh. The article states that Nisha Misra follows the path of the Silk Route to collect the artefacts and points out that there are both similarities and differences in the artefacts that she collects from places like Uzbekistan and also places like Rajasthan.

The article is not about the beauty of the artefacts the beauty of the artefacts that the article has described in bits and pieces, but it is about the effort that this lady has put in to make her dream a reality. Recommendation 2 from ‘The Guardian’

Article Name:‘Why has Mark Zuckerberg set up a Facebook page for his dog?’

By: ‘Bim Adewunmi’

The article states that Mark Zuckerberg has started a Facebook page for his dog beast and he is not the only one to be doing it, there are many others who have been tweeting cats and dogs and surprisingly many such tweeting dogs and cats follow each other and also some human beings too. The article states that most pet owners consider their pets as a part of their family, so making a Facebook page is even more fun. Writer states that this trend came up perhaps because it is silly and fun, it is like being silly and further, we all do it because we can.

Well, who started this trend, could be anyone’s guess. It is like one day someone sat, opened the Facebook page and just did it out of sheer curiosity. However, no matter what the reason, now there are hundreds of people doing the same. It is like giving voice to animals, which is entirely fascinating for me at least.

Recommendation 3 from ‘The New York Times’

Article Name:‘Why Vincent Chin Matters’

The article is one about Asian-Americans in the US. The articles basis itself on the brutal murder of one Vincent Chin in 1982. This Japanese American was the victim of race violence and was brutally hacked to death. The article summarizes the influence of his death on the American society and what have been the long term consequences of the same on society.

The article does a wonderful job of highlighting the ills of society and more importantly, what are the challenges that an advanced nation like the US faces. Its startling in a way because it highlights the kind of race-based violence that non-Americans have to face in a society which is essentially the most diverse in the world.
