We ourselves might have seen cases where women put up in homes where she is not respected at all just for the simple reason that she has no place to go etc. Yes, there needs to be this new legislation, giving more security to women. This should be the first step in providing a strong social structure to women.

It states that despite reports showing huge increase in divorce rates, it is surprising that divorce rates in India are artificially low, which means that divorces have not increased to the number they should have. And, there is only one explanation that there isn’t much protection for women outside her marriage under the Indian Marriage laws. This non-protection leads to insecurity, which amounts to one of the many reasons that women stay in marriages that are not happy. The article introduces the readers to the new legislation, which if passed will give equal property rights to women as well.
