Directions for the question set:
Answer the questions on the basis of the following information.
The investigative body has arrested the mastermind called ‘JEJO’ and nine other people namely Abhay, Bhanu, Chandu, Dheeraj, Ekansh, Faisal, Girdhar, Harmeet and Ishant in a recent matter wherein the answers of a test held nationwide were leaked to a group of unscrupulous people. Interrogating them, the following facts have been obtained regarding their operation. Initially ‘JEJO’ obtains the correct answer-key. All the others create their answer-key from one or two people who already possess the same. These people are called his/her “sources”. If the person has two sources, then he/she compares the answer-keys obtained from both sources. If the key to a question from both sources is identical, it is copied, otherwise it is left blank. If the person has only one source, he/she copies the source’s answers into his/her copy. Finally, each person compulsorily replaces one of the answers (not a blank one) with a wrong answer in his/her answer key.
The paper contained 200 questions; so the investigative agency has ruled out the possibility of two or more of them introducing wrong answers to the same question. The investigative agency has a copy of the correct answer key and has tabulated the following data which represents question numbers.

Answers 1: (b) Only when there are two sources which are not matching is when the answer is kept blank. Hence as the blank answer nos. that appear in Bhanu’s column also appears in other columns, hence this is the answer. Hence the correct option is (b).

Answers 2: (c) Before Chandu could mark the answers, Dheeraj, Ekansh (source from where Chandu gets its blank answers) and Ishant (source where Chandu gets Q. 27 wrong) must have prepared their answer keys. For Ekansh to prepare its answer key, it must have the data from Abhay. Thus 4 people must have made their answer keys before Chandu could make it. Hence the correct option is (c).

Answers 3: (d) Girdhar got Q. 25 wrong and none of the other 9 people got the same wrong, and similarly for Harmeet. Thus Girdhar and Harmeet were sources to none of the nine. Hence the correct option is (d).

Answers 4: (c) Chandu got Q. 56 wrong (27 wrong obtained from Ishant), Ekansh got Q. 90 wrong (46 obtained from A), Harmeet got Q. 92 wrong (46 obtained from Abhay). Thus the only answer has to be ‘c’. Hence the correct option is (c).

Answers 5: (d) Ekansh and Harmeet both got Q. 46 wrong (90 and 92 were the compulsory wrong that they had to make). Thus they both should have had the same sources. Abhay, Dheeraj and Girdhar had just one wrong question each and had no blank answers. Therefore these should also have had the same source. Hence the correct option is (d).
