Indict is to make a formal accusation or indictment against someone by the findings of a jury; especially, a grand jury: “The officer has been indicted for collecting wealth not proportionate to his income.”
Indite, on the other hand, means to write; especially, formally: “The fashion of sending sms on mobile phones has become so common that people do not indite letters to one another.”
