Knight means a medieval tenant giving military service as a mounted man-at-arms to a feudal landholder: “The knight-of-arms fell in love with the lady shut in the fort.”
Night, on the other hand, means the period between sunset and sunrise, especially the hours of darkness: “The travelers found it difficult to pass through the woods as it was a very cold and dark night.”
