1. New District in Arunachal Pradesh

• ‘Shi Yomi’ has become the 23rd district of Arunachal Pradesh.
• It was carved out of the West Siang district.
• On August 29, A bill was passed for the creation of three new districts, Pakke-Kesang, Lepa Rada and Shi Yomi.

• DMK’s Kanimozhi will be awarded as ‘Best Woman Parliamentarian–Rajya Sabha’ by the VP Venkaiah Naidu.
• Muthuvel Karunanidhi Kanimozhi is an Indian politician, poet and journalist. She is a Member of Parliament, representing Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha. Kanimozhi is the daughter of the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi and his third wife Rajathi Ammal.

• China has launched the first space mission to the dark side of the moon that a rover will land on the far side of the moon.
• The name of mission is Chang’e-4 lunar probe mission from Xichang launch centre.

1. SWIFT India Chairman

• SWIFT India has appointed Arundhati Bhattacharya as its chairman.
• The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) provides a network that enables financial institutions worldwide to send and receive information about financial transactions in a secure, standardized and reliable environment.
• Arundhati Bhattacharya is a retired Indian banker and former Chairman of the State Bank of India. She is the first woman to be the Chairman of State Bank of India. In 2016, she was listed as the 25th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.

2. SUFI Lifetime Achievement Award

• Ratan Tata was conferred Steel Users Federation of India Lifetime Achievement Award.
• It was presented by Minister for Steel Choudhary Birendra Singh during the 2nd SUFI Steel Awards in Mumbai.

3. Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank with Andhra Pradesh

• AIIB has approved a $400-million loan for a water sanitation project in Andhra Pradesh.

4. Top Recipient of Remittances

• Acc. to World Bank, India will be top recipient of remittances for this year with $80 billion.
• A remittance is a transfer of money by a foreign worker to an individual in their home country. Money sent home by migrants competes with international aid as one of the largest financial inflows to developing countries.

1. Khelo India Youth Games

• Khelo India Youth Games-2019 will be held in Pune in January.
• Around 9000 youth Athletes with Khelo India Youth Games university players will also be taking part in it.

• Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Wasim Khan as its Managing Director.
