1. MSME International Trade Fair

  • Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the 8th edition of Odisha MSME International Trade Fair 2020 in Bhubaneswar.

2. Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar

  • Government of India has conferred the status of Institution of National Importance to the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar, by conglomerating the cluster of Ayurveda Institutes at Gujarat Ayurveda University (GAU) campus, Jamnagar.
  • Institute of National Importance (INI) is a status that may be conferred on a premier public higher education institution in India by an act of Parliament of India, an institution which “serves as a pivotal player in developing highly skilled personnel within the specified region of the country/state”.

3. Indradhanush Natural Gas Pipeline Grid project.

  • Government of India has authorized the amount of Rs 5559 crore for Indradhanush Natural Gas Pipeline Grid project.
  • The amount will be used to set up Natural Gas Pipeline Grid connecting 8 North Eastern states.
  • The 8 North Eastern states includes: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.

4. Minati Mishra passes away

  • Veteran Odissi dancer Minati Mishra passed away.
  • She was reported in 2011 to be the oldest-living Odissiperformer. The Government of India honored Mishra in 2012, with the fourth-highest civilian award of Padma Shri.

1. Naval Exercise ‘Naseem Al Bahr’

  • India and Oman will conduct 12th edition of bilateral maritime exercise ‘Naseem Al Bahr’ in Mormugao Port, Goa.

1. Deutsche Bank projects India’s economy

  • Deutsche Bank has projected that Indian economy will reach $7 trillion by 2030 in its research report “Imagine 2030”.
  • Deutsche Bank AG is a German multinational investment bank and financial services company headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. The bank is operational in 58 countries with a large presence in Europe, the Americas and Asia. As of April 2018, Deutsche Bank is the 17th largest bank in the world by total assets.

2. New chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council of India

  • A Sakthivel has been appointed as the new chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council of India (AEPC)

3. World Bank projects India’s Growth Rate

  • World Bank in its Global Economic Prospects report, has projected India’s growth rate at 5% for fiscal year 2020 and 5.8% for fiscal year 2021.

1. Khelo India Youth Games

  • Hima Das will be the torchbearer in Khelo India Youth Games opening ceremony
  • Hima Das, nicknamed the Dhing Express, is an Indian sprinter from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

2. Daniele De Rossi retires

  • Italian Veteran footballer Daniele De Rossi announced his retirement.
  • He won the 2006 world cup title for Italy after defeating France. He has played 117 games for Italy from 2004-17.
