- After Sikkim and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar got full exemption from Sc liquor ban policy.
- A Bench led by Chief Justice of India J.S. Khehar took note of the geographical quirks of Arunachal Pradesh and the islands and gave them exemption.

- Renowned cartoonist Mangesh Tendulkar passed away after illness, on Monday in Pune.

3.India’s retail inflation hit record low of 1.54% in June.
- India’s retail inflation in June hit record low of 1.54% according to government data.
- This comes mainly due to Goods and Service Tax which prompted shops to destock and clear up inventory.
4.Museum dedicated to Former President Abdul Kalam to be opened in Thiruvananthapuram.
- A museum dedicated to former President and renowned space scientist A P J Abdul Kalam will be opened in Thiruvananthapuram.
- Titled Dr Kalam Smriti International Science & Space Museum, will house personal memorabilia of the late President, a large number of very rare photographs and miniature models of rockets, satellites, and his famous quotes aimed at inspiring the youth.

1.Microsoft unveils $10 billion plan to offer Internet through TV channels.
- Microsoft has unveiled $10 billion plan to provide faster internet through TV channels in rural areas of US(United States)
- Microsoft will use unused spectrum between TV channels called ‘white spaces’ to offer broadband internet to rural communities.
2.China moves to block Internet VPNs from 2018.
- The government has ordered China’s three telecommunication companies to completely block Virtual Private Networks(VPNs) by 2018.
- The move will completely block access to much of the global internet as part of maintaining communist party’s grip on power.
- Interestingly china has blocked thousands of websites including Facebook, Google, Instagram and twitter.
3.US deploys advanced anti-aircraft missiles in Baltics first time.
- As a deterrent to Russia in the flashpoint region, The advanced defense system has been brought to the Baltics first time by United States.
- This comes after zapad exercise by Russia and Belarus, which NATO believes could increase Russian presence.
4.Iraqi troops strike with ISIS days after declaring victory.
- Iraqi troops clashed with ISIS militants holding out in Mosul’s old city.
- Interestingly this comes after Baghdad’s announcemt of victory over ISIS, which was considers as biggest defeat for the hardline Sunni group.

1 .Former Goldman Sachs banker Ned Segal named as twitter CFO.
- Ned Segal, a goldman Sachs banker has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at twitter. He will report directly to CEO Jack Dorsey.
- He will take over from Anthony Noto, who was promoted to Chief Operating Officer(COO).
2.’Aaykar Setu’ new app launched by IT-dept to pay taxes on mobile.
- Income Tax Department has launched new app named ‘Aaykar Setu’ to help citizens pay taxes on mobile .
- This app will help users to understand direct taxes, pay taxes, apply for PAN, and even share grievances with right authorities.
3.Reliance stock hits 9 year high after revised tariff rates.
- On revising tariff rates, The stock Reliance Industries, Parent company of Reliance Jio hit its nine-year high level.
- The new plan entail reduced data and validity for the Telcos services.

1. Mithali Raj becomes all-time highest run scorer in Women ODIs.
- Mithali Raj, Indian women’s cricket team captain became all-time highest run scorer.
- She achieved this milestone against Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup.
2.Chandimal, Tharanga named SL test and limited overs captain after Angelo Mathews resignation.
- Following his resignation from all the three formats, Chandimal and Tharanga are named as Sri Lanka’s test and limited overs captain.
- Angelo Mathews resigned after ODI series loss against Zimbabwe at home.
3. Tsotsobe handed eight-year ban for match fixing.
- Convicted in 2015 match-fixing scandal South African test bowler Lonwabo Tsotsobe has been ban for 8 years.
- Notably Tsotsobe is the seventh player of SA to kicked out of the game for match-fixing.
