1. Jammu & Kashmir Witnesses First National Lok Adalat of 2023

  • The Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority presided over the year’s inaugural National Lok Adalat throughout the region.
  • During this single-day event, 142 Benches settled 75,250 out of 88,723 cases presented across various courts in the UT, awarding Rs. 45,05,14,697 in various claims such as motor accidents, civil and criminal disputes, labor issues, utility bills, and more.
  • Four such Adalats are to be held this year, with the subsequent one scheduled for May 13, 2023.

2. SBI Launches Specialized Startup Branch in Gurugram

  • The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened a dedicated branch for startups in Gurugram.
  • Ranking third in housing the most unicorns nationally, following Bengaluru and Mumbai, Gurugram is an apt location for this.
  • The branch aims to guide startups from inception to public offerings, serving as a comprehensive financial hub.
