3. Paryatan Parv

• Paryatan Parv by Ministry of Tourism was inaugurated by Rajnath Singh.

4. PSLV-C42

• Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C42) of ISRO has launched two satellites — NovaSAR and S1-4– from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre,Sriharikota.
• This was the 44th flight of PSLV.

International News

1. International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

• International Ozone Day is observed on Sept 16.
• Theme : Keep Cool and Carry on: Montreal Protocol

2. International Red Panda Day

• International Red Panda Day (IRPD) is observed on Sept 16.
• The aim is to promote and encourage people save Red Panda as they are under endangered species.

3. International Day of Democracy

• International Day of Democracy was observed on 15th September globally.
• Theme : Democracy under Strain: Solutions for a Changing World.

4. Military Exercises

• Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2018 a joint military exercise of Indian and US armies, commenced sept 16 at Chaubattia, Uttarakhand.
• The Inaugural Edition of the BIMSTEC Nations Military Field Training Exercise MILEX – 2018 commenced on 16 Sept at Foreign Training Node, Aundh Military Station, Pune.

1. India’s Foreign Trade Report

• RBI has released the India’s Foreign Trade Report for April-August 2018-19.
• The overall trade deficit for April-August 2018-19 is estimated at US $ 47.72 Billion.

2. Human development index

• India is ranked at 130 out of 189 countries in HDI Index released by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
• Norway has the highest ranking.
• Burundi has the lowest ranking.

3. Gender Inequality Index

• India ranks 127 out of 160 countries in the Gender Inequality Index.
• It is the part of the Human development index released by UNDP.

4. Meera Puruskar

• Sawai Singh Shekhawat of Jaipur, will be awarded the Meera Puruskar.
• The Meera Puruskar is the highest award of the academy.

5. 2018 ACI Customer Excellence Global Summit

• Hyderabad airport has received award in ‘Airports Council International Airport Service Quality’ as top airport in world.
• 2018 ACI Customer Excellence Global Summit was held at Halifax in Canada.

• 2018 edition of the Asia Cup has introduced to have a Super Over in case of tied matches.
• ACC Asia Cup is a men’s One Day International & Twenty20 International cricket tournament. It was established in 1983 when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries.

• Zlatan Ibrahimović scored his 500th goal of professional football career.

• Ronaldo has scored his first competitive goal for Juventus.
