1. ‘Voter Turnout’ App

• Election Commission of India has launched ‘Voter Turnout’ App.
• It shows the state-wise and constituency-wise voter turnout in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
• The Chief Election Commissioner heads the Election Commission of India, a body constitutionally empowered to conduct free and fair elections to the national and state legislatures and of President and Vice-President.
• Sunil Arora assumed charge as 23rd Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India. He succeeded OP Rawat who retired on 1 December 2018.

2. TIME magazine’s 2019 List of the 100 most influential people

• Three Indians have been named by TIME magazine in its prestigious 2019 List of the 100 most influential people in the world.
• Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries Chairman), Arundhati Katju and Menaka Guruswamy (for a historic legal battle for LGBTQ rights in India)
• Time is an American weekly news magazine and news website published in New York City. It was founded in 1923 and originally run by Henry Luce.

3. The words ‘Chemists and Druggists’ to be replace as ‘Pharmacy’

• The signboards of medical shops in India will be replaced with the word ‘Pharmacy instead ‘Chemists and Druggists’.
• It was came under Central Drugs Standard Control Organization.

3. Law for Whistle-blowers

• European Parliament has approved a law which aims to give greater protection to Whistle-blowers across the European Union.

• Nepal’s first satellite ‘NepaliSat-1’ has been launched into space at NASA Space Station.
• It was developed by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

• PwC has named Padmaja Alaganandan as its New Chief People Officer.
• PricewaterhouseCoopers is a multinational professional services network headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

2. World’s Tallest Indoor Waterfall

3. Longest single spaceflight by a woman

• The record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman will be accomplished by NASA astronaut Christina Koch.
• Christina Koch has been scheduled to stay on the International Space Station for over 300 days.
• Earlier the record was held by former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson at 288 days.
• Christina Hammock Koch is an engineer and NASA astronaut of the class of 2013.

• Pakistan has reached an agreement in principle with International Monetary Fund over a bailout program which of $6-$8 billion.

1. Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

• US President Donald Trump will award golfer Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
• The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the President of the United States. The Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal are the highest civilian awards of the United States.
• Tiger Woods is an American professional golfer. He is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time, ranking second in both major championships and PGA Tour wins, as well as holding numerous records in golf.

2. US Masters Golf

• Golfer Tiger Woods clinched his 5th US Masters title at Augusta National Golf Club, Georgia.
• US Masters is one of the four major championships in professional golf.
• The tournament has a number of traditions. Since 1949, a green jacket has been awarded to the champion, who must return it to the clubhouse one year after his victory, although it remains his personal property and is stored with other champions’ jackets in a specially designated cloakroom.
