1. Madhya Pradesh bags ‘Best Tourism state’ award.

  • Madhya Pradesh ahs won the ‘Best Tourism State’ national award for the third consecutive year.
  • The state bagged total 10 awards in this programme, organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day(27 September).

2. Maharashtra to plans to convert INS Viraat into naval museum.

  • The Maharashtra government is planning to acquire the decommissioned aircraft carrier INS Viraat and convert it into naval Museum.
  • Notably, the authorities were earlier planning to sink INS Viraat to turn it into an underwater destination.

3. India to train Afghan police forces.

  • India and Afghanistan exchanged a memorandum of understanding which will see Afghan police forces trained in India for the first time.
  • The agreement followed a meeting between Afghanistan Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.s

  • Saudi Arabia’s king Salman has issued decree allowing women to drive for the first time.
  • The royal decree will implement the provisions of traffic regulations, including the issuance of driving licenses for men and women alike.

2. ISIS release new video message of their leader Baghdadi.

  • Islamic State released a new audio recording of its leader Abu Bakr al-Bahdadi, a first communication from the leader in almost a year.
  • This comes after Russia claimed in June that Baghdadi may have been killed in a Russian airstrike.

3. Fromer Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra sentenced to 5 years in prison.

  • Thailand’s Supreme Court sentenced fromer PM Yingluck Shinawatra in absentia to five years in prison after finding her guilty of mishandling a rice scheme.
  • However, Shinawatra who was overthrown in 2014 by the army which still controls the kingdom, has denied the charges and fled Thailand before the verdict.

1. India’s economy will be a $6trillion in next 10 years.

  • India is expected to be a US $6 trillion economy — the third largest in the world — in the next 10 years, majorly helped by digitization according to a report by Morgan Stanley.
  • Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial service provider and James P. Gorman is its CEO.

2. Maruti Suzuki unveils all new S-Cross.

  • The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki unveiled the new version of its S-Cross model.

3. Railways to work with ISRO for rail safety: Railway Minister.

  • Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that Indian Railways is working with the ISRO to devise safety mechanisms to make travel trains safer.
  • This comes after a string of train derailment accidents.

1. Five Indians in top20 of Men’s badminton rankings.

  • Five Indians find themselves in the top-20 of the BWF men’s singles rankings with HS Prannoy being the biggest gainer after his quarterfinal performance at the Japan Open

2. Official ball of FIFA U-17 WC named ‘Krasava’.

  • Krasava, the official match ball for 2017 U-17 World Cup was launched ahead of games.
  • The structure Krasava, a term used by Russian fans to describe a striking performance incorporates the same panel shape as the balls used in the UEFA Euro 2016.
