1. China clears garbage from Mt.Everest
- A team of 30 cleared 8,500 kg of garbage from Mt.Everest.

2. Saudi Arabia establishes a separate ministry for culture
- King Salman bin Abdulaziz separated the Ministry of Culture from the Information Ministry.
- This comes amid steps to modernize the conservative kingdom.
3. Japan’s passport named world’s most powerful
- Japan’s passport named world’s most powerful passport as per Henley and Partners passport index 2018.Japan’s passport grants visa-free access to 189 countries.
- India’s passport secured 76th rank in the index.

1. ONGC incurs loss due to price cap
- ONGC has incurred a loss of Rs.4000 cr as the govt mandated price for fuel was less than the cost of production.
- ONGC produces about 75% of India’s natural gas output.
2. Flyers need not pay GST in duty-free shops
- International passengers buying goods at airport duty-free shops will not be subjected to GST.
- The duty-free shops will have to seek GST refund from the govt.
3. Employees in Mumbai work longest hours
- An average employee in Mumbai works 3,315 hrs a year.
- Employees at Rome work 1,581 hrs while of Paris work 1,662 hrs.

1. ICC added 4 teams to ODI rankings
- Netherlands, Nepal, UAE and Scotland have been added to the list ODI-Test playing nations.
- With this, the number of nations on the list is 16.
2. National sports university in Manipur
- President Ram Nath Kovind has given his assent to set up the university in Manipur.
- The university will promote sports sciences, technology, management and coaching.
