- Jaswant Singh Kanwal was an Indian novelist, short story writer and essayist of the Punjabi language.
- Jaswant Singh Kanwal was awarded Sahitya Akademi Fellowship for his 1996 book Pakhi. He received the Sahitya Academy award for Taushali Di Hanso (Novel) in 1998.

4. East Asia Summit conference
- India is set to host the 15th edition of East Asia Summit conference in Chennai.
- The East Asia Summit (EAS) is a regional forum held annually by leaders of, initially, 16 countries in the East Asian, Southeast Asian, and South Asian regions, based on the ASEAN Plus Six mechanism. Membership expanded to 18 countries including Russia and the United States at the Sixth EAS in 2011.

2. Global Go To Think Tank Index Report 2019
- Global Go To Think Tank Index Report 2019 has been released by Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Observer Research Foundation (ORF) of India has been ranked at 27th position among 176 global think tanks.
- It was ranked at 118th position in the 2018
- Observer Research Foundation is an independent think tank based in India. The foundation has three centres in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. ORF provides potentially viable inputs for policy and decision-makers in the Indian Government and to the political and business communities of India.

1. President of Paralympic Committee of India
- Paralympic medalist Deepa Malik has been elected as president of Paralympic Committee of India.
- Deepa Malik is an Indian athlete. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and won a Silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the shot put. She has also won gold in F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018.
