1. India-Nepal Relations Strengthened by EAM S. Jaishankar’s Visit
- India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar enhanced bilateral ties with Nepal during his two-day visit, culminating in key agreements and initiatives.
- At the 7th India-Nepal Joint Commission meeting, an important agreement was made for India to import 10,000 MW of hydroelectric power from Nepal over the next decade.
- Additionally, India committed to a financial aid package of Nepali Rs 1,000 crore (about USD 75 million) for the reconstruction of areas affected by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
