1. Non-partisan
• Not biased or partisan, especially towards any particular political group. Politically neutral.
Usage: We need constructive, nonpartisan collaboration — even, and especially with, our leaders who hold so much power.
2. Non-partisan democracy
• Nonpartisan democracy (also no-party democracy) is a system of representative government or organization such that universal and periodic elections take place without reference to political parties.
Usage: We will establish a new, non-partisan democracy promotion agency that will help emerging democracies build democratic institutions and support peaceful democratic change
3. Indemnity
• Security or protection against a loss or other financial burden.
• A sum of money paid as compensation, especially one paid by a country defeated in war as a condition of peace.
Usage: No indemnity will be given for loss of cash.
4. Fulcrum
• A thing that plays a central or essential role in an activity, event, or situation. A fulcrum is the supporting point of a lever. The first fulcrum you encountered was probably on the playground — right underneath the see-saw.
Usage: It’s the chess match that ultimately may become the fulcrum in Monday’s game.
5. Retribution
• Punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act.
Usage: Employees asked not to be named, saying they feared retribution.
6. Alacrity
• Brisk and cheerful readiness.
Usage: She accepted the invitation with alacrity.
7. Burgeon
• Begin to grow or increase rapidly; flourish.
Usage: Manufacturers are keen to cash in on the burgeoning demand.
8. Pendency
• The state, condition, or period of being pending or awaiting settlement.
Usage: The defendant should be restrained from further public comment during the pendency of the trial.
9. Disincentive
• A disincentive is something that discourages an individual from performing an action. It is the antonym of incentive. Disincentives may fall within the scope of economics, social issues or politics.
Usage: The company is thinking about how to create the right incentives and disincentives for creators to do the right thing.
10. Politicization
• The action of causing an activity or event to become political in character. The process of becoming or being made politically aware.
Usage: Progress towards full convertibility was a decisive step in the full politicization of industrial relations.
