Word-1: Repentance
Meaning: The action or process of repenting, especially for misdeeds or moral shortcomings.
Synonyms: Contrition, grief, guilt, penitence, regret, remorse, sorrow, etc.
Usage Examples:

Word-5: Gimmick
Meaning: A mechanical device for secretly and dishonestly controlling gambling apparatus.
Synonyms: Artifice, device, fun, gadget, gizmo, instrument, manoeuvre, method, etc.
Usage Examples:

2. His longtime friends describe his populist style as no political gimmick.

Word-6: Ideological
Meaning: “Cultural beliefs that justify particular social arrangements, including patterns of inequality.”
Synonyms: Abstract, academic, analytical, as a premise, assumed, codified, speculative, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. The administration finds itself in an ideological cul-de-sac that will be difficult to escape.
2. He always tries to link his study with his ideological problems.
3. The men at City Hall, sniffing at anything too ideological, insist that big cuts are impractical.

Word-7: Hierarchical
Meaning: One in which people have different ranks or positions, depending on their importance.
Synonyms: Hierarchic, ranked, stratified, graded, ordered, etc. Usage Examples:
1. He loved the hierarchical structure of Celtic society because it was hierarchical but also because it was extravagant.
2. Popular Taoism repeatedly formed extremely hierarchical churches and a series of more or less secret sects with anarchistic and mystical tendencies.
3. Many real-world data structures fit the hierarchical pattern and are readily understood.

Word-8: Pernicious
Meaning: Irreparable harm done through evil or insidious corrupting or undermining.
Synonyms: Damaging, dangerous, deadly, destructive, detrimental, devastating, harmful, lethal, malicious, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. How can a struggling organization escape this pernicious cycle of perpetual reaction and strife?
2. The need for gastroscopic follow-up of pernicious anaemia patients is still debated.
3. These patients had been treated earlier for pernicious anaemia in the same hospital between 1972 and 1985.

Word-9: Liberalism
Meaning: Political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual to be the central problem of politics.
Synonyms: Free trade, isolationism, noninterference, nonintervention, etc.
Usage Examples:
1. The magazine is devoted to anatomizing the inadequacies of liberalism.
2. In his column, he used San Francisco as a stand-in for an even easier target: liberalism.
3. Nowadays, such national sentiments are also defended by those who place themselves within the traditions of liberalism.
