One of the black stars says that this is because Hollywood hairstylists are one-size-fits-all and that ‘all’ does not include black hair. She says that this is unfair as her white peers get their hair done on set as a part of the standard pre-production process. The author reveals that she often wears wigs so that, in the event of catastrophic styling, her real hair will survive intact. She thinks that the studio should stop thinking of black hair as a specialist situation and invest time and money for their hair and makeup.
