Article Title: Analogue policymaking won’t work in a digital world

Article Summary

The article at issue charts a profitable way forward for future social and technological progress, and speaks of the author’s involvement in the issue, which he believes can contribute some help. The article starts by speaking at length on the various good effects new technology has rewarded the world with, including bringing connectivity and solutions for problems never solved till date. The most dazzling aspect of new innovations today is the speed at which they are occurring. However, we still have a ways to go when it comes to handling new tech – many people are blocked from having the kind of technological access a privileged few have, and several minorities around the globe could use a helping hand for welfare. Also, new tech brings with it a whole host of new problems, which includes nukes and bio-warfare weapons in the gambit. In face of these new challenges, the author has paired with Melinda Gates and Jack Ma, the collaboration leading a panel of experts discussing the new challenges thrown up by tech. The author is humbled that the UN, an organization he is involved with in a key role, was chosen for lending institutional support to the panel’s endeavors, and he is excited to begin his own duties towards this function.
