In this article, the author narrates a tale about a young Assamese girl – Urja.

Urja’s routine was defined by superstitions and fallacies. Coming from Assam, she dwelled in poverty where you were lucky to have a single good meal. Suddenly, fame struck her when a producer noticed and signed her up for a web series. She was elevated into money but she had an eerie feeling that she would hit a dead end. From growing up hungry to having all she could want, she had come a long way but couldn’t take her mind off from those who went to sleep on a hungry stomach. One day, she got diagnosed with a tumour in her stomach. Churning money and with not much time left, she spoke to her producer that she wanted her money invested in a restaurant which would feed hungry stomachs who could not pay. The producer saw this as an extension to his web-series which was ironically called “We don’t have hungry stomachs” and so “Urja for Hungry Stomachs” was born. Urja watched this chain grow and passed shortly after due to Starvation. Such irony!
