National Park is a suitable place for biodiversity conservation. National park is an area which is strictly reserved for the betterment of the wildlife & biodiversity, and where activities like developmental, forestry, poaching, hunting and grazing on cultivation are not permitted. In these parks, even private ownership rights are not allowed. Their boundaries are well marked and circumscribed. They are usually small reserves spreading in an area of 100 sq. km. to 500 sq. km. In national parks, the emphasis is on the preservation of a single floral or faunal species. The wildlife calling in National Parks is indeed adventurous and enthralling, there is nothing like spotting rare and common species in their natural habitats. It is also quite fascinating to catch the glimpse of those animals, which we had only seen in pictures while making our science projects in lower grades in school. Also, activities like jeep, elephant and canter safaris and accommodation facility inside many national parks gives more reasons for people to visit. Thanks to India’s biodiversity, there is at least one national park in each state that displays vivid flora and fauna of the region. There are nearly 400 such national parks in India.
