1.First Indian PM to visit Spain in 30 years.

Narendra Modi became the first Indian PM to visit Spain in nearly 30 years.
The previous Indian PM to visit Spain was Rajiv Gandhi, in 1988.
In this visit India and Spain have signed 7 agreements.

2. George Kurian appointed as Vice-Chairman of National Commission for Minorities.

Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has appointed George Kurian as Vice-Chairman of National Commission for Minorities.
He is Kerala’sBharatiya Janata Party leader.
The National Commission for Minorities is responsible for safeguarding the constitutional rights of minorities in India.
Gairul Hasan Rizvi is the Chairman of National Commission for Minorities.

3. World’s third largest aviation market.

India has emerged as the world’s third largest aviation marke twith passenger traffic exceeding 10 crore in 2016-17.
Average or median air fares fell by 18 per cent during 2016-17 and scheduled domestic flight movements rose from 7 lakh in 2014 to 8.2 lakh in 2016.
There are currently 496 aircraft in operation with domestic airlines, and another 654 planes are under purchase orders.

4. Delhi Police Launches Bicycle Patrols for better Policing.

Delhi Police has launched a bicycle patrol scheme to increase police presence in congested areas of the city.
The bicycle patrols will complement and supplement the existing motorcycle and PCR patrols along the arterial and main roads of Delhi.
First batch of 65 bicycles has been allotted to the Eastern Range of Delhi Police.
The bicycle patrols will be ensuring safety in parks where senior citizens and women go for morning and evening walks.
They will also be introduced in the campus areas and near schools and colleges.

1. Indira Jaising to lead UN probe.

UN rights council named a three-person team to probe alleged atrocities against Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims.
The human rights council voted in March to create a Myanmar fact-finding mission.
The mission will be led by Supreme Court advocate Indira Jaising.
Other members include Sri Lanka’s former human rights chief Radhika Coomaraswamy and Christopher Dominic Sidoti, a human rights advocate from Australia.
Jaising drafted India’s first domestic violence act, allowing women to bring civil and criminal suits against attackers for the first time.

2. ‘Un-Islamic’ Justice statue reinstalled.

Bangladesh has reinstalled a statue deemed “un-Islamic” by religious hardliners on the grounds of the Supreme Court.
The statue was installed in December last year and was removed.
It has now been reinstalled at a different location on the court grounds, where it would be less visible.
The statue shows a lady blindfolded and holding scales while wearing a sari.

1. Flipkart’s Chief Operating Officer quits.

Flipkart’s Chief Operating Officer Nitin Seth has quit the company citing personal reasons.
He joined Flipkart last year and was in charge ofFlipkart’s logistics unit Ekart.
He was former managing director and country head of investment firm Fidelity International in India.

2. Amul inks MoU with ISRO.

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has signed an agreement with ISRO for fodder acreage assessment using satellite observation and space technology.
GCMMF markets its products under the brand name of ‘Amul’.
Under this MoU,ISRO will help in identification between food crops and fodder crops at village level and also locate suitable areas of current fallows and cultivable wastelands at village level for green fodder cultivation

Lionel Messi wins fourth Golden Shoe.

Lionel Messi has won the European Golden Shoe for a record fourth time.
With this fourth Golden Shoe, Messi has drawn level with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team.
